Jasper Morris: 92-94 Points
This plot forms the upper part of the island separated by two small roads. The change between terres blanches and terres rouges happens right in the middle of the vineyard. Replanted late 1990s with good pinot plants. Pretty mid purple. The bouquet is very striking no sign of the oak which sits on many of the others this is super fine. Nothing of typical Pommard. Strikingly fine. Admirable. And much more intensity at the back. Cherry and raspberry and very persistent.
Vinous: 90-92 Points
The 2020 Pommard Clos Blanc 1er Cru has a tightly-wound nose with dark berry fruit a touch of blueberry hints of iodine and violet emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins good weight a little chewiness towards the finish though the Volnay Ronceret has a little more precision and charm. (Drink between 2025-2038)
