Decanter: 95 Points

The ?21 Chambertin from Rossignol-Trapet is monumental wine. Medium-deep ruby in colour it is a bit less open on the nose but explodes with red and blackberry fruit on the palate with hints of earth mineral smoke and spice. The texture is silky and supple but not lacking grip or structure. This wine is a top-level Chambertin produced from the domaine parcels totaling 1.60 hectares. The grapes were fermented with a large percentage of whole clusters and (contrary to custom) punched down to ensure adequate extraction. (Drink between 2027-2050)

Jasper Morris: 94-96 Points

Mid crimson. Nothing in the colour tells you it is a great wine. The nose ? ah now it is getting more interesting a mixture of the extra depth and the suggestion of complexity to be discovered. Little red fruits with precision some floral notes too. While in the mouth the smiles come readily to my face. The 2021 Chambertin is not the equal of the truly astonishing 2020 but they have made a very good job in a supple subtle style with the dainty little red fruits which continue. An assemblage des nuances. Drink from 2029-2038.

Burghound: 92-95 Points

Here the equally broad ranging nose is actually similar to that of the Latricières but it's both cooler and even more restrained with a bit more floral influence as well to the sauvage red and dark cherry aromas. The intensely mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors are quite rich indeed even seductive with evident power on the youthfully austere firm and beautifully persistent finale. While this is certainly austere it is

Vinous: 93-95 Points

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru is very harmonious and focused on the nose demonstrating much more intensity and complexity than the Latricières and Chapelle-Chambertin. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins lightly spiced quite saline with a touch of bitter orange and marmalade on the finish. It just has more substance than others hence my higher score. (Drink between 2025-2045)
