A background touch of wood adds breadth to the smoky aromas of petrol citrus green apple and a hint of anise. Somewhat surprisingly the middleweight flavors are not particularly dense though there is an almost pungent minerality to the moderately austere bone-dry and balanced finale. This isn't as powerful and muscular as it usually is and while I wouldn't describe this as a Blanchot Dessus of refinement it is certainly finer than is typical.
