Jasper Morris: 96-98 Points

50% has been made with pedicels with one new barrel out of two. A glowing purple colour. Sometimes it is hard to find the words because in these great vineyards it is just the sense of nobility which counts. Little baby raspberry and strawberry notes deliver such intensity. The fruit keeps swelling on the palate until it remembers its dignity and then just moves into a graceful seamless texture. When you think it has finished back comes the fruit again. You don?t notice either tannins (fine) or acidity (fully integrated). Drink from 2030-2040.

Vinous: 96-98 Points

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru is represented by three barrels this year two new with 50% whole bunches (pédicelles). It has superb mineralité and tension full of electricity and breeding. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins very harmonious with a silky texture pixelated on the finish that feels so pure and ethereal. Simply one of the best Chambertins in this vintage. (Drink between 2026-2050)

Burghound: 94-97 Points

Moderate wood stops short of fighting with the overly floral and spicy nose of mostly red berries earth and a hint of the sauvage. The dense and powerful yet seductively textured broad-shouldered flavors possess evident muscle and a borderline aggressive minerality on the hugely long balanced and classically austere finale. In much the same fashion as the Champeaux this is akin to rolling a small pebble around in the mouth. This is terrific and highly recommended. (Drink starting 2036)
